For this edition we welcomed percussion legend and bandleader John Rodriguez Jr. "Dandy". Nearing 60 years in his profession, gained tenure with a slew of legendary music groups including Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez, Tico-Alegre All-Stars, Tipica 73, and many more. Dandy has continued a legacy in Latin music while forging his own path in the evolution of Afro-Cuban music in New York. A co-founder of Tipica 73, lifelong member of Tito Puente's Orchestra, and co-founder of Mambo Legends Orchestra, Dandy continues to contribute to the preservation of the genres of Mambo, Charanga, Salsa and Son. We were also blessed with the participation of Salsa musician/arranger Willie A. Rodriguez Bass and corista, radio personality Jose Calderon.

Rodriguez, Jr. remains active as a performer and recording artist, leading the ever popular "Dream Team" and other important New York-based musical groups. Dandy joined us in the studio to talk musicianship, share music and more about the Dream Team's upcoming performance at the 8th Annual Old Skool Room as part of the Goya New International Salsa Congress on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the NY Marriott Marquis.
