No wifi and laptops during evening bar service to enjoy the ambiance and presence of friends This space is created to honor all artists, creators and community builders. Together with the community, Playground's aspires to bring together groups of people to curate workshops, shows and popups to further the involvement of the neighborhood and citizens of the world.

8 ♾️ 🎱 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halloweens marks a new year at playground. I am filled with gratitude for all the love and trust that has been bestowed upon us since we opened in 2016.

It’s eerie to think of the similarities between today and when we first opened our doors 8 years ago. We were on the precipice of a notorious presidency that would go on to make the evils perpetrated by this country even more public and all-consuming.

It became clear to us that being a part of this community required being a safe space, and we held a town hall the week following the election to address our community’s concerns face to face. This imprinted the legacy of our work and commitment to BedStuy.

Our mission is simple and straightforward: to listen to and learn from the systems that are around us, while supporting and making decisions to understand one another. To use this platform to share our stories and have honest, hard conversations is the devotion of Playground.

Through it all we remain open to every thing that comes our way- the good, bad, and ugly. It has been a blessing to be here 8 years later. From a hardware store, coffee shop to a restaurant, mutual aid hub, community, and as of recently, a wine bar!

Thank you to letting us take the shapes we have and for embracing the ones ahead.

Embracing September as we say goodbye to a sweet August.

Join us as we gear up to celebrate 8 years in Bedstuy, Brooklyn.

These last few years have been monumental and it’s a pleasure to grow alongside our neighbors and friends.
Take a walk with us down memory lane as we recollect memories from one of our favorite days here at playground, our block party!

This month we will be sharing images by photographers .co that captured the essence of this special event.
Major shout out to for honoring the DJs with an epic sound system that had the cops come knocking 😂

Delighted to be dancing along to tunes by while eating everything on the menu by .nyc.

From signing up for to custom earplugs by and pics from the .pm booth all lines converged like to veins to the heart! ❤️

A huge shoutout to our family at and for quenching our thirst in the heat as was making its way in to our system.

This would not at all be possible without our team and most of all the support of our family who have made this summer one to remember.
