This morning I broke my own record.

At 64 years old, I’m still improving.

Most people believe aging means gradual decline.
But the truth I’ve discovered is this:

The body responds to what you do every single day.

When you move daily…
When you breathe deeply…
When you sleep with discipline…
When you eat to fuel your body instead of feeding cravings…

Your body doesn’t just maintain.

It upgrades.

I once thought my readiness score might never go above 93.
Today it reached 94.

A small number on a screen —
but a powerful reminder:

Limits are often illusions we create for ourselves.

Your future health is not decided by your birth year.

It is decided by your daily habits.

One breath.
One workout.
One meal.
One night of deep sleep.

Do that consistently…
and the body becomes stronger than anyone expects.

Including yourself.

Your best health may still be ahead of you.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
Love starts with how we treat ourselves — daily, quietly, consistently.

Today I’m grateful to be back at my baseline (135 lbs, 12% body fat), a reflection of balance, discipline, and self-respect. I celebrated with orchids — because self-love doesn’t need permission.

🫁 Breathing is a window into biological age

This morning I did a simple test:
👉 Calm breath hold after a normal exhale
⏱️ 1 minute 20 seconds (80.46 sec)

Why this matters 👇
The urge to breathe isn’t driven by lack of oxygen — it’s driven by CO₂ tolerance.
Higher CO₂ tolerance = calmer nervous system, better oxygen delivery, deeper sleep, and better recovery.

📊 What the data shows:
• >60 sec = very high CO₂ tolerance
• 80+ sec = elite-level control

Combined with my sleep respiratory rate (~15 breaths/min), this suggests a biological “lung age” similar to a fit person in their late 20s–early 30s — despite being in my 60s.

💡 High CO₂ tolerance is associated with:
• Lower nighttime breathing rate
• Higher HRV
• Better oxygen delivery (Bohr effect)
• Reduced stress & anxiety
• Deeper sleep and recovery
• Greater resilience during exercise & illness

This didn’t come from extreme training.
It came from daily consistency:
• Tai Chi & breath awareness
• Nasal breathing
• Calm movement
• Good sleep
• Low inflammation lifestyle

Longevity isn’t about pushing harder.
It’s about training the body to stay calm, efficient, and resilient.
