Welcoming Ryan Mcknight to the BLEND archive with a playful mix inspired by the NYC q***r underground of the past, current & future 🪩💫

Ryan McKnight (he/him)

A native New Yorker Ryan spent the 90’s a baby club kid/raver, working at venues like Twilo and Limelight as well as various raves. With years of experience in the booth, Ryan’s sets make a nod to the old while keeping it fresh and new across house, electro, italo and everything in between.’

kay bringing to the BLEND series a carefully crafted all vinyl set with a full hour of acid tinged bass lines, percussive elements & ethereal vocals 🔊🧚

CYCLO BONETTE (she/they)

CYCLO BONETTE’s sound is both ethereal and visceral. Tribal percussion, emotive melody, and acid basslines are key ingredients in her distinctive, yet genre-fluid sets; diving through breakbeat and house records of the 90s with ease and style. Her sets are ecstatic experiences, and her productions are perfect encapsulations of the energy felt on her dancefloors.

Notes on the Mix ///

“This all vinyl mix, which came together very intuitively and magically, is a workout of both the body and the mind, a story that is intended to make you smile, cry, and make your heart beat fast. I focused my energy deep into the grooves, letting the records speak and guide my decisions. I also channeled a personal, mystical scenery that felt timeless, spiritual and true to me, while keeping the energy building and the acid singing. I hope the emotion got through and I’m super happy with the result!

Shoutout to my awesome friend Tini for spontaneously handing a copy of their beautiful record and my bff Jackson for gifting me the Darwin Chamber record!”

This weeks BLEND is a healthy dose of nostalgia from London based Emilia G with samples from icons like Madonna & Billie Piper along with some deep digging wiggles & wobbles 🎵🪩

Emilia G is a DJ and Love Will Save The Day FM (.fm) resident who draws from her roots in southeast London to cultivate her sound, house at its core with blends of acid, trance, techno - always a lot of groove, always an ounce of sleaze. She runs Pherotone (.party), a clubnight all about connection that prioritises booking FLINTAQ artists and aims to create an inclusive space in southeast London. She brings infectious energy to the decks and dancefloor, crafting sets with care and intention that will leave you feeling something and wanting more.

Notes on the Mix ///
“For this mix, I imagined it was 7am in a forest where people are up for the music getting wonky, squelchy and weird but also craving some silly moments, cuddle-your-pals nostalgia and a bit of sauciness too. I made a vocal sample of a recent Madonna interview segment that really spoke to me to open up the mix and wanted to spotlight a few lesser known female producers from the 2000s who I recently discovered, and experimented with some long blends. Brits might recognise a sample from 90s icon - Billie Piper! I was on Cloud 9 while recording this as I just witnessed two very dear friends get engaged and it was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen - so I’d love to dedicate this mix to them! Congrats on your engagement James and Dominic :). I really loved recording this, hope you enjoy!”

Seb Fawlkes & Homi are a match made in heaven transmitted to Taipei - enjoy this joyous mix full of uplifting and playful selections 🪩🔥

Notes on the Mix ///

Debbie with an ‘S’: This mix captures everything I love about playing with Gemnital. It’s pumping, playful, and full of character — a kitchen-sink cocktail of classic house sounds and personal favorites from our individual collections. For the years that we have been playing together, going B2B has always been our preferred way to share music with one another. Gemnital will come over to mine before or after a gig and we’ll back and forth with whatever we’ve been obsessing over for the past couple of weeks. This mix is one such session. No planning, no specific direction, just a couple of gal pals feeding off each other’s enthusiasm. Hope it gets you wiggling! X

Gemnital: What I love about going B2B with Debbie is it’s always just pure sisterhood chemistry. We don’t hold back, just feed off each other’s energy, or even steal each others‘ tracks and drop them to surprise the other - at some point in this mix it feels like a positive competition for the best bassline ever — in the process we just feel what the other creative mind is becoming with their last selection and jump back in with what feels instinctive. As we both grow as DJs in Taipei’s electrifying underground electronic music scene and its musical diversity that bridges the West and the local Eastern medleys, Debbie and I want to contribute a sound and a space that center on the infectiously uplifting side of the bright, bold house music production that make the q***rs and the nonconforming everywhere home, especially in Taipei where the q***rness is all natural born for young generations, and that is Clutch!. So, here’s two shiny happy fairies free-sketching how Clutch shall vibe with punchy crunchy house music of all eras especially from the 90’s and beyond, on a Saturday afternoon right at Debbie‘s living room - a party that initiated with Debbie‘s ideal of house for girls and guys with pearls . Thank you for transmitting this from Taiwan to the world

17th July XOXA .blocksldn

Two collectives. Day to night. Outdoor to indoor.

NYC - London-based collective XOXA takes over the terrace for an afternoon canal-side dance party, bringing together a lineup rooted in New York’s underground. Shannon Leah Gough-Cooper

Joining them is DJ Shannon, whose sound is unmistakably influenced by her hometown NYC. After spending five-years in China and opening a club there, she’s built a reputation through one of the most consistently celebrated shows on The Lot Radio and appearances at some of the world’s most respected clubs and parties. Effortlessly weaving futuristic bass, NYC house, UKG and hip-hop, Shannon is known for her impeccable selections, razor-sharp mixing and infectious energy. One of NYC’s finest taking it to Hackney Wick along the canal is not one to be missed.

Also on the terrace is Panooc, a DJ, producer and instrumentalist whose journey from jazz saxophonist to electronic artist has shaped a fearless, genre-defying sound. A fixture of New York’s house and techno scene since 2011, they move fluidly through house, acid, electro and breaks, blending q***r US club influences with the faster, rawer edges of UK dance music.

As the sun sets, The Blocks take over the taproom, carrying the energy into the night. Championing London’s next wave of boundary-pushing q***r DJs, the collective brings together artists pushing the cutting edge of club music. DJ ftronic

Founder ftronic is joined by Queen Adelaide resident and trans~late founder DJ-CK. Fresh from supporting the likes of Spray, LSDXOXO and Moxie, expect a high-energy, euphoric journey through bouncy house, progressive and UKG.

Keeping the energy from Pride weekend burning with a juicy 💦 new BLEND mix from tyler/rose 👑🌹 of Flower Factory

Prince Rose (he/they)

Prince Rose is a New York City-based DJ and event producer whose work moves through nightlife and q***r community with intention and depth. Over the past decade, he has shaped dance floors with a sound that is both body-led and emotionally tuned, while helping create the parties, communities, and experiences that bring people together around them.

His sets blend hypnotic house, Latin-rooted bass, and percussive club textures with warmth, tension, and a sensual pull. As a resident DJ and co-founder of Flower Factory, Washington D.C.’s beloved q***r party and DJ collective, he has spent more than six years helping grow one of the city’s most enduring q***r nightlife institutions while playing alongside local and global q***r talent. His music has carried him to venues including Good Room, Knockdown Center, and Bossa Nova Civic Club in New York City, as well as the Somos music festival in Mexico City. His diversity of sound lives in various mixes, including for the Honcho Podcast, Rave Scout, and Deep South mix series.

Notes on the Mix ///
“This mix — which was inspired by a recent B2B I did with my brother Wild Cherry at QNCC — lives in the space between heavy, hypnotic basslines, sharp, driving percussion, and some genuinely funky and off-center textures that make you want to shake ass. It’s built for warm, sensual, and expansive movement, shifting between moments of deep groove and peak-time intensity without ever losing its pulse. It features some new tracks from my favorite artists in the q***r underground, including Jacob Meehan, The Carry Nation, TIKE, Josh Steers, and even a brief acapella cameo from Alexis de la Rosa’s recent EP. More than anything, it’s a snapshot of a scene that continues to produce some of the most exciting, inventive dance music in the world right now.”
