It is with deep deep sadness and regret that I reach out to you all. This is Taz the former manager. This morning Bettie Paige lost her battle with Cancer. I have known a lot of young ladies with a lot of character over the years that I had served as the manager of Sugar n Spice, but I have to say that of everyone I've ever worked with, I think she was the most unforgettable of them all. Not because of her beauty, not because of her dance, not because of her body, but because of the content of her heart and personality. You could not help but love her. She was at times troubled, but she was always authentic and genuine. And ALWAYS unique. From her song selections, to her wardrobe, to her gradeschool lunchbox purse. She was adorable and won her way into everyone's hearts just by being her. Unfortunately she's also had a life filled with disappointment and hardship. I'm sad to say it but it's true, her suffering is now over. We shared a lot of laughs, and we shared a lot of love and we've shared quite a few tears. She became like a daughter to me over the years even after she stopped working at the club. I can say that although I thought I was prepared for this, it hit me really hard when I got the news, she's gone way too young. I hope you'll all wish her well on her way home. This will probably be my last post on this page, so take care everyone and... a very sincere thank you for always being good to my girls over the years.
