Update: Back at it again!!

For those who don’t know Matt works a few different jobs here in Jones County, and was kept very busy over the summer season, as that season slows down the projects here at Glass Tap to restore and update and complete the full remodel are back underway! Starting with behind the bar, tiles coming up so the floor can be redone to match the rest.

The question has been posed, When are you opening??

The Answer:

When the remodeling has been completed and we can host live music again. As the self proclaimed home of live music for Jones County, we have added a in-house lighting system to better the experience for bands, Dj’s and of course our customers, and 220v access on the stage for some of the bigger bands. Some future updates for the live music experience include a in-house PA system to better balance the bands and improve the acoustics within the bar as well as a new and larger stage!

In order to preserve the buildings history we have done our best to protect and restore the original floor for many years to come, this process is almost complete and we can’t wait for everyone to see the finished result.

This is the most difficult section of this update, It has been a struggled for a while to get this job done and find the right people to finish this project, but the front of the building has to be replaced. This update will allow for a larger stage, potential updates in the future and increase the safety of the building as well as a nice updated look to add to the character of downtown Monticello.
