IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Dear Friends and Patrons:
As you are aware, earlier last year; Mr. Js Lounge tavern licenses was denied by members of the Common Council licenses committee. Nevertheless, Mr. Js subsequently continued to operate while our efforts to remain open was under court appeal.
Unfortunately, our efforts to remain open has seemingly come to a well-fought but exhaustive conclusion. Therefore, we regretfully want to inform you that our doors have recently closed permanently.
The incidents of lawlessness that happens throughout the city has prompted us to further reevaluate our operations as a licensed tavern in lieu of the present social and local political climate. The acts of gun violence which has been wrongfully attributed to Mr. J’s Lounge in the past and the resulting knee-jerk reaction by members of the Common Council in denying renewal of our licenses has cost you our loyal patron and this city an iconic entertainment landmark which has stood for over 45 years.
Conversely, as we wind down this chapter of Milwaukee’s nightlife history, we want to thank you all for your unwavering love, patronage and support. With your continued support we hope to return in a different form as an entertainment venue in the not-to-distant future.
Until then we want to thank you for allowing us to serve you and we will attempt to return to serve you once again as best we can. Our sincere apologies for the rudeness shown to our patrons by city officials on the final day of operations.
