Last 2 batches of mead we bottled are as shown. One of the all time favorites Experimental Strawberry PBJ Sandwhich. As well as a batch of 21 Bean Salute that we fermented in Medina then aged in a whiskey barrel the last 2 years while we were producing mead at Leonard Oakes. A fitting end to an era. Stop out Friday and Saturday and get some.

810 Meadworks opened 10 years ago this month. 10 years. I'm very proud of that. Although, without many of you encouraging me over the years, I would have never made it past the 10 month mark. Unfortunately, year 10 will be our last. It's fitting that the tasting room made it 8 years and the mead production made it 10. A beautiful and unexpected conclusion, but all good things must come to an end eventually.

I still love making and sharing mead with people. But let's be honest, 810 Meadworks was never really about the mead. Its purpose was to give people a place to escape the world for a quick respite.Trying to recreate the beauty and magic that had existed at 810 Meadworks in Medina is futile. It was a perfect moment at the perfect time. It was just what we all needed. I know there are lasting friendships of all kinds that were sparked at that concrete bar. It was beautiful to watch all that happen. Since the tasting room has closed, things haven't been the same and selling alcohol has gotten tougher, mead even tougher. I don't envision that I'll ever quit making mead but the era of making mead for 810 is coming to an end. I'm sure for many of you 810 ended 2 years ago. For others it will never end. In either situation, my love for all of you has not changed. Thank you from the depths of my soul for supporting my business and family for the last 10 years.

We'll let you know next week some more information as to how you can buy some of the inventory we have remaining.

Congrats to our friends in the Cider industry!

VICTORY!! 🙌🏻

After an incredible amount of lobbying by entities all over the state, the NY legislature has passed a historic Direct to Consumer bill which will allow members of NYDistilled and the New York Cider Association to safely ship products and contribute to the full potential of the craft beverage sector. While wineries have had this advantage for almost two decades, small craft beverage makers have not been able to leverage this market, many of which need it to survive, let alone thrive. But finally our time has come and we are so grateful for the opportunity and this lifeline to share NY cider and our own Steampunk where it has not existed before.

This moment is one that will alter the trajectory of NY Cider henceforth, and we hope you’ll raise a glass with us for a job well done by so many over the past few years to help make this happen. CHEERS!!
