Vineyard Update: We are witnessing some exciting changes in our Pinot Noir vineyard! Acid levels are dropping and sugar levels are rising, transforming our hard green berries into soft lush purple berries (a process called โveraisonโ) ๐
Right now we are doing some fine tuning while getting things ready for harvest. This includes: hedging and canopy management in areas that need it, pulling suckers when we come across them, and keeping up with our scheduled spray program to keep our Pinot healthy and disease free. โ๏ธ
As the fruit gets sweeter, the birds tend to notice. As things move closer to harvest time, we may need to set up a system that keeps the birds from stealing our delicious Pinot grapes. Our system usually includes: propane powered air cannons, reflective tape strung on bamboo, and kites that resemble bigger birds such as hawks. ๐ฆ
Weโll update you on our 2026 Pinot Noir again come harvest time ๐
Cheers! ๐ท
