Reading and drinking scotch have always made a fine pair so it only made sense for literary agent Chip MacGregor and writer Holly MacGregor to follow a lifelong passion in opening an up-scale, intimate whiskey lounge. Attention whiskey lovers! Due to the change in ownership, our Irish whiskey class has been postponed until Thursday, March 30th at 6 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you can still make it to this fantastic event!

On a brighter note, we have a lot of exciting events coming up that we can't wait to share with you. Chip MacGregor will still be around to teach classes and take you on our popular whiskey tours. Here's a sneak peek of what's to come:

- In May, we're planning a trip to Portland distilleries.
- In June, Chip will teach a history of whiskey class.
- In September, we're heading to Scotland, and there are only four spaces left!
- In January, get ready for a tequila trip to Mexico.

MacGregor's, A Whiskey Bar will be re-opening on March 23rd under new ownership. Holly and Chip want to thank you for the years of support and hope you will continue to show that kindness to new owners Jay Vogel and Megan Taylor. It's true, Manzanita MacGregor's will be closed for St. Patrick's Day, but be sure to check out the St. Patrick dinner and drink specials at The Manzanita Lighthouse Pub & Grill! Have you been to MacGregor’s Whiskey Bar? If you have, thank you. Whether you realized it or not, you most likely found yourself in an inclusive, safe environment, no matter who you are. While we respect freedom of speech, hurtful comments or actions aimed at our customers or staff are not acceptable.

Chip or Holly do not condone hate speech. They have aimed to lead lives and create spaces respectful of others, no matter politics, ethnicity, culture, or gender/sexual orientation, and have been particularly involved with supporting LGBTQ+ persons. If you know them and their stories, you know this to be true. If a staff member is making comments outside of the business that are unaligned with the owners' politics and views, Chip and Holly will make sure the employee understands they are, to some degree, a representation of the business and will take appropriate steps to address the issue. Personnel matters are necessarily private, but if you are unsure your concerns are being heard, contact Holly or Chip directly.
