Our closing announcement created quite the buzz this week. 👀 We understand that everyone wants to know more about what's going on, so we really appreciate Emily Mills coming out to talk to us about the plans for the space and our renewed dedication to serving the community. Our hope is that this will truly be a place to be out, be proud, and just be. 🌈🎇

As Plan B becomes Prism Dance Club, new management looks beyond a simple re-branding of the east side night spot and toward a more inclusive and diverse mission statement.

Rico Sabatini and Apollo Marquez, the new co-owners of Plan B, share the vision for their new venture. Plan B will be closing after Saturday, February 16, and will be reopening as Prism Dance Club on March 1, 2019. The decision to rebrand comes from their passion to provide Madison with a premiere inclusive nightclub experience. Co-Owner Rico said, “It became apparent that the venue truly needed a fresh start and the opportunity to reach the potential of the space. With the new partnership, we felt it was the right time for the change. We are truly excited of what we have in store for the Madison community.”

The core values of Prism embrace the ideal of providing a safe space for all. Planned updates include making the necessary improvements to the building, staff and security, and a renewed devotion to diversity and inclusion. The modern approach focuses on active management, training and accountability for the staff and patrons, and unwavering dedication to provide a welcoming party environment.

They are collaborating with Lili Luxe -- local event promoter, producer, and consent advocate -- who will coordinate events and bookings to help cultivate that next-level entertainment vibe. Lili shares that “We want everyone to come in to Prism and ‘live your light’. We know that people go out for a diversion from life, and they deserve a space that accepts their beauty in all forms and reflects that amazing energy and light trying to shine within us all.”

Plan B has been a staple of the Madison LGBTQ+ community for a decade. Rico said, “Plan B has been near and dear to me since its inception in 2009. I look forward to continuing on with its original purpose of providing an awesome, safe atmosphere to 'just b’ in the new form of what will be Prism.” Apollo adds, “I am super excited to jump in, elevate B, and bring it into the light!

When one chapter ends, another begins. This new chapter will be filled with drinks, dancing, and fun for all!
