There is something rather charming about a historic downtown in October this close to Halloween.

On Saturday you will find a little Oktoberfest celebration at Nassau Park, a bit of trick-or-treating, and perhaps a few spirits wandering about. 🕯️🥀

The House, naturally, has made arrangements of its own. 🪦

For Friday & Saturday, we have a few seasonal indulgences awaiting you:

🍺 $5 Oktoberfest B**rs — From our friends at Off Square Brewing.

⚰️ The Co**se Reviver — A rather curious name for a cocktail intended to bring one back to life.

💚 Green Eyes — Featuring the unmistakable herbal intrigue of Green Chartreuse. A little mysterious, and entirely captivating.

Whether you're joining the downtown festivities or simply seeking a proper cocktail and good company, The House will be delighted to receive you on either evening.

After all, not every spirit wandering Lowell this weekend is a ghost.👻🥃

The House has made proper arrangements for An Evening of Cocktails & Live Music, featuring a rather familiar and exceptionally talented local musician.

On Thursday, November 5th, we are delighted to welcome Angelo Cicco for an intimate evening of live guitar music.

For those who have had the pleasure of hearing Angelo perform, his talents need little introduction. For those who haven't, you're in for a rather lovely treat.

After an evening of mixing, tasting, and debating the winter cocktail lineup, Madam and The Keeper decided they'd earned a drink of their own.

His: The Barrel-Aged Buff-Turkey Old Fashioned. 🥃

Hers: An Extra Filthy Dirty Martini with a Blue Cheese-Stuffed Olive plunked into the shaker tin. 😍 🍸Madam is obsessed.

The House was quiet, the work was done, and for a little while, we were simply two people enjoying a drink in the place we once only dreamed of building...

A rather lovely way to end an evening, wouldn't you agree?

📜 On the Matter of Louisville vs. Lowell 🥃

One might reasonably assume that to experience an exceptional bourbon collection, one must first make the pilgrimage south to Kentucky.

Madam would like to respectfully disagree.

You see, when The Keeper and Madam envisioned Ledger & Proof, we had a rather particular ambition.

To bring a little of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail experience home to Northwest Indiana.

Not merely a few familiar bottles behind the bar, mind you. We wanted a collection worth exploring. The rare finds, the allocated treasures, the distinguished classics, and the lesser-known labels that deserve a proper introduction.

And, perhaps most importantly, the opportunity to taste, compare, discover, and learn.

Our Bourbon Ledger has grown into a collection that rivals those found in some rather respectable establishments along the Bourbon Trail itself.

And because we believe a fine bourbon is best appreciated through exploration, The House offers several curated bourbon tasting flights, each an invitation to discover different distilleries, compare expressions, and appreciate the remarkable nuances that distinguish one pour from another.

Because the pleasure of the Bourbon Trail was never simply about the bourbon...

It was the discovery. The conversation. The experience of finding something extraordinary in a glass.

And we thought Northwest Indiana deserved a little of that magic, too.✨️

Louisville may have the distilleries, but Lowell has The Keeper. 😉

No road trip required.
