Its been a pleasure to serve the cab riding community since March 2009, but the time has come, due to my health, to step away and focus on the fight with cancer that is now begun. I wish everyone I met through the cab, nothing but joy and happiness. Hopefully some of you will stay in touch. Cheers, Phil

Health Update. To my loyal customers, I am being admitted into hospital tomorrow morning, August 20. I am not sure for how long yet but I am guesstimating 3-5 days, possibly longer but not shorter. Hopefully when this is all behind me, I can still count on your continued loyalty and business.

Anybody see the story on the news about the massive hacking of usernames and passwords perpetrated by Russian hackers? 1.2 billion were hacked. Companies and individuals and websites those individuals visited. 420,000 websites!! I hope for the traveling public's safety, Uber and Lyft were not amongst the 420,000 or your credit card info may have been compromised!!

I received a call a little while ago to see if I was available to pick up 3 guys at a place in the Highlands and take them to Proof on Main. I told the caller I was downtown and would be there in 15 mins or less. I arrived in 13. Saw the guys, one was about to get in but his buddies said forget him, we called Uber. I said to the guys that I'm here Uber isn't. They said I could go. I asked them so its OK for me to use my gas and time and you simply blow me off instead of canceling Uber? No response. See how some members of the public treat cab drivers? Then it dawned on me. Since Uber has their credit card info in advance, would they be charged for canceling a pickup? Hmmmm

What does the PGA, Valhalla and the city of Louisville have against Louisville taxis? We are not allowed to drop off or pick up at the course. There is no drop off or pick up zone for us at Papa John's stadium. Why can't we too make a little bit of money? Welcome to Louisville golfers.

I am not going to waste any more time posting anything about the Lyft taxi service. They can call it whatever they want but when a car picks up someone at point A and takes them to point B for pay, that's taxi service. This is my ceasefire. Lyft drivers, you ceasefire too.
