SoCal Westy SoCal Westy is a group of people passionate about dancing, learning, and growing West Coast Swing in the Los Angeles / SoCal Area. See you on the dance floor!

We're hoping this group will service as a resource to let people know where they can go dancing and take classes or to rally the troops to go out!

To everyone who contributed to the "it's all about the girls fundraiser" at Blackout Fridays! Thomas Carter / DJ Brian / FUNdraiser JnJ / BYOB , we can't say thank you enough. We had more people compete than last year and actually raised 200.00! + An additional 60 in other donations! Here are some videos our social media manager, Tina took during comps. Enjoy!

Blackout Friday is TONIGHT, so here's a few FYI things to know!

1. We got Thomas Carter teaching the intermediate class!
2. Change in plans. Helen didn't get back to SD till this morning so we have Brian djing all your favorite tunes🎶
3. "It's All About the Girls" JNJ is tonight! 🩷🎗️ Sign up at DJ booth with $10 entry in cash preferred but venmo is accepted.

Format: Open Jackpot 🙂 Winners take half (other half goes to Dori Eden's It's All About the Girls Fundraiser!")

If you've never been to Blackout Friday before here's some FAQs:

1. We either take paypal or cash only. Paypal - [email protected] (choose friends and family option) We don't take venmo or credit card.
2. Prices - 20.00 for intermediate class + social
Intermediate class ONLY - 10. Social ONLY - 15.00
Student discount (must show current ID) - 10.00
(Anyone with the BYOB pass - BYOB pass ONLY covers social dances. Intermediate class is $10)
3. Beginner class - always free. If you bring someone new you can get 1 BYOB pass per visit that can be used for next BOF
4. First timers! If you've never been to Blackout Friday, your first time is FREE though if you want to take the intermediate class it's $10.00 🙂
5. Water bottles we do sell them for $1. Otherwise we recommend you bring your own water bottle and fill it with ice because it gets really hot. Additionally, in this heat bringing a change of shirts also helps cool you down! + portable fan.

Okay so this week we are NOT doing Spotlight strictlies...we are doing our annual Jack and Jill FUN-draiser for Dori Eden 's "It's All About the Girls" THIS Friday. It's $10.00 to enter and the Jack and Jill is formatted like Open Jackpot 🙂 Winners take half (other half goes to Dori Eden's It's All About the Girls Fundraiser!")
