Jack fired up the blender yesterday (that sound! like a small aircraft preparing for departure), and handed Janatus a frozen Passion Fruit Margarita for quality control purposes. The verdict? Well, let's just say this photo was taken moments before Jack decided it needed to be Sunday's special.

If you're looking for us, we'll be over here making cocktails while the award-winning EMP Jazz Trio does its thing.

Honestly, these guys are a blast. Evan Michael Palermo, Jeremy Poparad, and Thomas Johnston have a way of taking jazz somewhere unexpected. You'll hear a little bit of everything in the mix, and somehow it all works. They're serious musicians, but they never forget that people came out to have a good time. For goodness sake, these are the cats who can move seamlessly from jazz standards to Tyler, The Creator and the Super Mario Bros. theme and somehow make it all sound perfectly natural.

Doors open at 5pm.

Music starts at 7:30. No cover.

Tomorrow night, we’re excited to welcome back the EMP Jazz Trio to Speak of the Devil.

Led by drummer and composer Evan Michael Palermo, the award-winning EMP Group (Best Jazz – 2026 Cleveland Music Awards) has built a reputation around adventurous, modern jazz that can turn on a dime—from atmospheric and cinematic to explosive and deeply groove-driven. Featuring Jeremy Poparad and Thomas Johnston alongside Palermo, the trio plays with the kind of chemistry that only comes from years in the scene and a shared language onstage.

This band is best experienced in a room like ours—close up, cocktail in hand, watching three musicians listen and react to each other in real time.

This weekend’s cocktail special is one of those drinks that makes you stop mid-sip, look at the glass, and go “okay…what the actual heck is this?”

Meet the Café Colada — a wildly good modern riff on the Piña Colada featuring rum, pineapple, coconut, banana liqueur, and the deep, rich magic of St. George Spirits NOLA Coffee Liqueur. Tropical? Absolutely. But there’s this darker, roasted coffee note underneath that somehow pulls the whole thing into sophisticated craft cocktail territory without losing the beach-party soul of the original.

Born at Attaboy Nashville and now making its way to you via Speak of the Devil, the Café Colada kind of bridges two worlds: frozen vacation energy and late-night cocktail bar nerdiness. Dog days are officially upon us. And around here, that means one thing: Wiener Wednesday is back.

Look, you don’t acquire the Cadillac of hot dog rollers just to leave it sitting in the garage. That thing was built for glory. For spinning all-beef classics to accompany the soft glow of a summer evening with a couple cold drinks.

So tonight we’re rolling dogs again.

We’ll have the condiment station set up so you can doctor yours however you see fit — classic yellow mustard minimalist? Ballpark mustard (the right answer)? Relish maximalist? Ketchup? We don't judge.

Patio’s open if you’re feeling the summer air, bar stools are waiting if you’re hiding from it.

ATTENTION PASSPORT HOLDERS:

One week from today, we begin our journey through the Americas — one cocktail at a time.

First stop: Halifax, Nova Scotia.

We kick things off up north with the Hoser’s Toque — a bright, refreshing blend of Canadian whisky, red wine, lime juice, ginger syrup, and blueberry maple syrup, all topped with soda. Equal parts patio crusher and maritime oddity, it somehow tastes exactly like summer near a cool ocean should.

It’s a drink fit for Canada’s rocky Atlantic Ocean playground — a little rugged, a little charming, and dangerously easy to keep ordering.

So get ready to stamp those passports, friends. The trip starts next week at Speak of the Devil for passport holders ONLY!
