legend has it this room was never meant to be found easily.

some say the exhibition room sits above what was once a hidden speakeasy—one of many that lined long beach’s coast when the city was already dry before prohibition ever made it law. bartenders who came before left behind whispers of a place just like this, where liquor flowed behind false walls and jazz drowned out the knock of the law.

by the 1920s, the pike was glowing with secrets. downtown storefronts hid drinking rooms where piano keys clinked in time with cocktail glasses. smugglers ran whiskey from mother ships off rum row. signal hill was alive with oil rigs, bootleggers, and backroom roulette wheels. and somewhere in the middle of it all... maybe this room was already here.

we can’t say for sure. there are no blueprints. no headlines. just stories passed down and a feeling that this space has always known the sound of a drink being poured and a secret being kept.
