“For a long time, I was really scared to step into being non-binary as well because I didn’t know if I was ready for that. I didn’t want to say it unless I felt super confident about it. So by the time I came to that conclusion, I felt assured in that and I can back myself up. I know I’ve got myself. So if people reach out, I’m always excited, when anybody comes up and says, “Wow, I didn’t even know that was possible,” and I’m like “Me too.”

Non-binary burlesque performer Jake DuPree is not the kind of human you see every day. On a typical post on their Instagram, you’ll find them flawlessly adorned in gemstone-encrusted lingerie and dominating the stage with a passionate confidence that says the whole world is at their feet–because...

An amateur drag competition at a West Hollywood gay bar led to a breakthrough audition for Jake DuPree with Dita Von Teese, resulting in DuPree’s burlesque debut performing the iconic martini glass act in Teese’s ‘Von Follies’ show.

That was in September 2018 — the beginning of the native Arkansan’s meteoric ascension in the performance industry. Since, they’ve spent a great deal of time overseas performing on stages from London to Paris, Berlin to Sydney and beyond.

Their most notable achievements include becoming the first non-binary person to perform at the iconic Crazy Horse in Paris; starring in the original West End cast of ‘Burlesque the Musical,’ and landing a Las Vegas residency performing as an opening act for Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera’s shows at the Voltaire Theatre in the Venetian.

In Arkansas, DuPree has performed only at Sway, making their Natural State debut in June 2026.

We are excited to welcome Jake home again over Central Arkansas Pride weekend and hope you will join us to celebrate at one of these parties:
