Jim Beam Basil Hayden 10 Year bourbon is tonight's Whiskey Wednesday featured bottle.

With an 80 proof alcohol content, 63% Corn, 27% Rye, 10% Malted Barley mash bill & 10 years aging in new oak barrels, this mellow, oak forward bourbon is truly an easy drinker.

The nose features honey, toasted marshmallow & aged oak. The flavor is mellow and oak forward, coupled with notes of butterscotch and rye spice. The finish continues the oak forward theme, with ample rye spice.

This 10yr, 106 proof bottle is the first in a limited release series dedicated to the Blender's of K**b Creek Whiskey.

The aroma is sweet and decadent, with notes of confectioner sugar, caramel & peanut brittle. Sweetness continues into the flavor, with brown sugar, vanilla and a bit of orange rind towards the end. The finish is long, with spice & charred oak.

Whiskey Wednesday is here!

This week's featured bottle is from a Chicago craft distillery- FEW Spirits Straight Bourbon. Every FEW bottle won an award in the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, including a Silver for today's featured bottle.

This is a unique offering, no doubt getting some terroir from its Evanston, Illinois roots. The nose is subtle with notes of vanilla, caramel & hay. The flavor shows this bottles' age (less than 4 years), but certainly not in a bad way. Wood up front gives way to caramel, cloves & some ethanol heat. The finish lingers for a little bit, with some white pepper at the end.
