Off-duty Sergeant Philip Dale Nix was shot and killed while trying to stop a crime at a Sheetz gas station. Three people, including two 18-year-olds, have been arrested in connection to his murder. https://www.wral.com/21215724/

D-Squad received information that a stolen vehicle was traveling on Vernon Avenue. Officers observed the vehicle and confirmed it was stolen from Virginia. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made the following arrest:

Kinston Singles Club thanks all the people who came to our dance last night!! We thank The New August Road Band for fantastic music !!! We thank the Lenoir Co. Shrine Club for the use of their building and a big thank you to Lori and Van Cranford for all they do!! Thank you all for the food you brought!!

Kinston Singles Club will have a dance with the New August Road Band Saturday July 1!!! Doors open at 5:30 PM and dance will be from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM!! We ask members to bring finger foods!! Drinks,water and coffee will be furnished by the club!! Come celebrate our country’s birthday!! No alcohol allowed per Shrine Club!! Members, guests and married couples are invited !!!
