It's Linda Lou here posting for all of those wondering about the Summer Meltdown...
For a couple of reasons it will not take place this summer, 2017. You can keep reading for more info if you like...

🎸The excellent bassist, John Lindberg, of the summer headlining group, The Butanes, unfortunately has passed and moved on to the next gig. It's a very sad thing for a lot of people because he was so amazing.
💥Hink, the person who provided the pyrotechnics and gave us a great fireworks show for a number of years has also departed.
🍃Just as tragic as these events, an event took place at the last Meltdown that put a huge damper on it.
Producing the show for this year became too difficult. A case of the few ruining it for the crowd. Overly intoxicated, ignorant people let a silly disagreement escalate into a violent act that could've seriously injured guests. The situation was dealt with it but it shouldn't of happened. All the people who had a hand in the party, whether owner/operator James, who spends months preparing or others working hard for a couple hours to try to make sure everyone has a nice weekend in the country with friends, family, food and kickass music have been injured enough that the 2017 event will not happen. There is talk of wanting to do something for next year but now, things will probably be a little different.
On behalf of James and The Board of Dicktators, we are all sorry about this and quite unhappy about letting you fine folks down.

All of us hope everyone manages to find time to hang out with loved ones and share some good memories and try to come back next year for something...maybe more obscure.

Don't forget today is the Meltdown! Hope everybody can make it out. It should be a great time as usual. Please, anyone that can, take photos and/or video. Remember to bring a tent, sleeping bag, chair or designated driver because we don't want anyone driving after having too much fun.

Don't forget that The Summer Meltdown is coming up quick! Saturday, July 16. You can find all the information on the event page.
There is still time to take the weekend off of work! Plenty of time to find a babysitter.
Invite your friends! Set up a tent and enjoy great music provided by The Butanes and Camile Boudin.
Come and join us for a great evening of laughter finding old friends, making new friends and everything that makes The Larvae Lounge an awesome venue.

Hi folks! It's getting to be that time of the year again when the Summer Meltdown is being organized. Details for this year so far are:
July 16. The Butanes with Camille which is just kickass to hear in the barn. We have new access for parking. There are hotel rooms available in Kenyon. We would love to have everyone possible come and enjoy this complete gem of a venue. Camping, carpooling, NO driving after drinking, all the same rules and suggestions apply. Remember even if it is very warm in the day it will still get cool and damp with dew overnight. Cigarette smokers please field strip and take care of your filters in the fire or in the trash there are farm animals that can be seriously affected by the ingestion of cigarette butts. We all love animals but unfortunately your dog or other critter is Melott allowed and less it is an actual service dog. This is adult event, find a babysitter and relax in a communal atmosphere.
Come prepared, we don't want anyone to be uncomfortable. Closed toe shooed are recommended. Bring a chair if you'd like to sit out under the stars because the music is just as great anywhere on the farm as it is inside the barn. A privy for use if you choose not to p*e in the field. This is a rural venue in a renovated three-story barn that will
BLOW YOUR MIND!

Come one, come all, tell your friends, leave your negative energy behind and come and enjoy some divine music.

This is not a rinky-dink operation, don't come with empty pockets and a sad face.

I'm sure there will be updates so please keep checking back and mark your calendars, put in for your weekend off, July 16 will come up pretty quick.

It's a bummer that there couldn't be a Fall Out party this year since the weather has been decent but there is a lot that goes into putting on even what seems to be a small party.

We would still like to get some more photos and videos for the web page and this FB page as well. Everyone has a decent camera in their phones so next year remember to whip it out and take some shots. The band, people dancing, having fun and the ambiance of the barn in general. There might even be a prize for the best or most photos/videos!
Everyone have a great holiday/winter and remember to plan ahead so you can get off work or arrange a sitter so you don't miss the next Summer Meltdown.
It will probably be the weekend go the 16th but we'll keep you posted.
