The making of a true Dance instructor,
I was so glad to be trained by an organization
That sent me to many cities to be trained, tested, awarded & certified, and also had me train staff & give lectures to other Arthur Murray staff in cities all over!
Today a teaching video popped up in my series The Dance Dr. Is In with Carolan, as I watched it, and listened to it, I was so very proud of our teaching methods here at Dance Hawaii Ballroom Club in Kona and the technique that goes into the making of each step, I am most proud that I am professionally trained, and did not just step out of a class or one day just decide to teach, I was trained for six months before I could get on a ballroom floor & teach .... and even then I had to be tested after six months by an Arthur Murray franchise owner who traveled from Indianapolis to NY to test me, only if I passed could I teach, and in front of the judges I had to more than just dance .... I had to teach them! And yes ...... I passed! Gil had to go through the same procedure way before I met him....This is the reason we can operate a real dance studio on the Big Island every day & have classes in our Ballroom floor every day for over 20 plus years!!!! & upgrading to bigger & better studio's ..... Our students dance like no other ....... this is also the reason I won first place top trophy over 250 competitors on the dance floor in many heats!!!!! Gil Ching...I am so proud of us, our Ballroom & Dance Hawaii Ballroom Club and it's many many supporters!!!
