Do you think fruity w**es are always sweet? What do you think a w**e’s closure (natural cork, synthetic cork, screw top) says about its quality? What are your perceptions about how age and sediment affect the flavor and quality of a w**e? When do you think a w**e needs to be decanted? Can a relatively inexpensive w**e truly be killer?

On Wednesday, October 21 at 7 pm, we’re welcoming back our friend Robert Nielson (owner of University Distributors) to discuss these questions – and perhaps some of your misconceptions about the answers. If you haven’t met him before, Robert is a fun and engaging speaking with a wealth of knowledge, especially about European w**es.

For $45 per person ($40 for w**e club members), guests will receive a meat and cheese plate and 3 ounce pours of 5 delicious and unique w**es that will hopefully teach you something new about your palate and what does – and doesn’t – make a w**e great to you.

We’ll have all the big games on today at The Cork, including the Iowa and ISU games at 2:30. Wear your favorite team’s gear and get half off a glass of w**e or b**r whenever they score a touchdown.

There are still spots left for the Johnston Chamber of Commerce Golf Event at Hyperion Field Club on September 28. We are in need of a few more Hole/Green sponsors, and there also are a very limited number of Team/Pair registration slots open.
