It was reported to me that Jo Hayes has passed away recently. She was a member of PLDC and helped Marilyn with WCS dances at the club. She hasn’t visited the club in a very long time, but we have fond memories of this quiet lovely woman. ❤️

I am very sorry to report that Diane Friend passed away this morning around 3 o’clock after a very short time on hospice. She had a non-cancerous liver condition.
❤️ I know you join me in sending prayers to Frank and the rest of their family.
Diane and Frank were very active members of PLDC and will be missed. Rest in peace, sweet lady.

Robyn and Tom came to the New Year’s eve dance, and Robyn fell during the lesson review.
Luckily, Chris was there. He is the EMT that comes out to the club. He was able to make an assessment and after a little while we helped her get up from the floor.
I checked with Robyn the next day and she said she was feeling OK despite some aches and pains and a sore foot.
Robyn indicated that her foot got caught on one of the spaces in the floor that provide expansion of the floor during humid weather.
Some dancers were concerned about the condition of the floor. The floor is not broken. As mentioned, the spaces are there for a reason. If they were not there, the floor would bind and eventually would break.
We have subsequently examined the floor (John, Les and Suzi) and although the space is there, it was not raised up since it is not the humid season. John did identify one spot that is raised up by the DJ booth and he is going to work on fixing that.
I have just now heard back from Robyn this morning and she says she is doing better and her foot is not as sore. She has her church dance class tomorrow and so she will be trying to dance and she’ll see how it goes.
