Ok kinda late on this one but Robin has been working with us for the past couple of months and we’re really enjoying having her around! She’s worked at some of the coolest bars in the city and we’re lucky to have her on board. Come by on a Friday or Saturday happy hour and get to know her if you don’t already.

History time! You may have noticed our Southern Pacific Lines clock when coming down the stairs and wondered what the connection is.

Our building was built in 1912 as the Southern Pacific Railroad corporate office building and Houston Watch Co was opened to serve as the official railroad watch inspector for their operations. The original watch shop was open from 1912 until 1990 to serve in that capacity before S&P moved out of the building.

There’s a lot more to it but here are some fun photos of the place over the years. Which sign is your favorite? Come see if you can unearth some more history with us over an old fashioned or two.

He’s back tonight folks! Come get your Matt Frey fix!

We get a lot of comments on our 2 ton safe. A relic from the days of the original watch company that’s a pretty cool reminder of the stories this place could tell. Even though we’ve been a bar for the last decade we’re always reminded of the 10 decades this place was here before we got here. Come toast to history!

The fences are coming down from the Main Street revitalization project in Downtown Houston. Some nice new trees and wide open sidewalks. You should come downtown and see the progress! Maybe grab a cheap@happy hour drink while you’re at it.
