The Starlite Club will be closed after Sunday, January 16th for renovations. Come see us and spend a moment/dollar with your favorite bartender!!
A note from Zac and Cheryl:
We took over the Starlite Club of Hot Springs in March of 2018. We knocked the ni****ne sweater off of everything, changed a bunch of bulbs to LEDs, re-strung the tinsel, and turned the neons back on. It started chugging along like a lumbering train, slow at first, but building momentum. We put “A Safe Place for Poor Choices” on our matches because we thought it was funny, but it soon became our mantra: everyone was welcome to be themselves at the Starlite.
This is the part where you insert your own best Starlite memory. Was it about the guys dancing in reindeer onesies, a killer set by Poe, Kramer, or Courier, nailing a karaoke song (looking at you Holli), or chilling at a tea dance? Was it dollar beers, overpours, barefoot dancers, free pool, hula hoops, fistfights, or the absolutely best pickled egg in the tri-county area? Was it bridal parties, Foul Play, Dramatic Restaurant Review Readings, PsyComedy Night, or the time that the comic magician’s dog bit Willard?
Another year, another COVID variant, another plumbing problem. New Year’s Eve saw Zac ringing in 2022 with his arm in the sewer, trying to jet out the turd burg that was stuck in our rotten iron pipes. At least we had toilet paper this year. With Omicron dwindling drinkers numbers, and many greek letters to go, it finally dawned on us that it would be a good time to acknowledge the fact that the Starlite needs some work. From alley drainage to HVAC to the PA and the pipes that run under the DJ booth, dance floor, liquor cabinet, and storage closet, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.
The fact is, the Starlite Club of Hot Springs will rise again, as a night out, an afternoon in, a missing six months. Next time with a real thermostat. We want to thank all the staff, DJs, performers, dancers, regulars, bingers, partiers, wallflowers, tourists and barflies alike that made this version of the Starlite the best bar in Hot Springs for a hot minute.
