If you know Pappy bourbon, you already know this is serious. And I'll be honest — when I first heard about a cigar aged in Pappy barrels I was curious but skeptical. Then I smoked one.

Right off the light there's this warmth that hits you, almost like the first sip of a good whiskey. Then it opens up into something deeper — dark chocolate, a little dried fruit, and this vanilla and oak finish on the back end that just reminds you exactly where this to***co has been sleeping. It's full, it's rich, and it's the kind of smoke that makes you slow down whether you planned to or not.

New at the Cigar Lounge. First up: Arturo Fuente.

Some things don't need to prove themselves anymore. The Fuente family has been hand-rolling ci**rs in the Dominican Republic since 1912 and every stick they make still smokes like they have something to prove.

When I lit this one up, the first thing I noticed was how smooth the draw was right out of the gate. Cedar, a little cream, almost like a hint of toasted almond that just kind of settles in and makes itself comfortable. By the time I got to the back half I was picking up this subtle earthy sweetness that just lingered. No harshness, no bite. Just a really clean, satisfying finish that made me want to sit there a little longer.

This is the cigar you reach for when the afternoon deserves more than a rush.
