A hesitant post here, I and my family so appreciate the support of the many good, fun, people over the three decades we've been having public dance nights at the Dance Place. We take pride in continuing the long history of dances and socializing that has continued in the Bear Lake Valley since pioneer times. We have enjoyed some fun nights this Summer season; however, for three of our nights this year, including last night, there has been a coordinated effort by small groups, to break in without paying. They look (for the most part) like good kids, but think it's funny, or okay, to participate in illegally entering a private business. It is stealing, and a criminal offence. It is also disruptive to remove them for the rest of the paying public as some resist removal. We are not a government entity that uses TAX PAYER money to promote and put on so-called free events. The cost of entry is 1/4 the cost of any other private business of recreation or entertainment around the lake. To this point I have not called on law enforcement, but still, very angry. This has been a love of mine and is actually an opportunity cost loss for me based on what I do for a living in other ways. We do well with private events, but enjoy our public nights.
If you are parents, or friends, or you, please make sure you, or others with you have cash or Venmo when coming. No Loitering in the parking lot without paying to come inside will be allowed, and will be enforced . Thank you for reading this lengthy post and let's have a good night tonight!
