Redd's Line Up

Redd's Line Up RLU is a team of dance instructor/DJ's, out of the greater Milwaukee area. We also do corporate & private events! MY CORE VALUES: Community is priority to me.

With over 35yrs experience in the field, RLU is your most reliable source for line dance lessons, classes & that honkytonk dance club vibe. Hey there, I'm Redd, founder and owner of Redd's Line Up. I was a competitive figure skater from age 5-27, and part of that training involved tap, jazz, ballet, gymnastics, choreography, and of course memorizing many routines. I started my line dancing experie

nce at 14yrs old, dancing at Serb Hall with some other teenaged friends. Later I danced 4 to 5 nights a week between Bronco Billy's and Kelly's Bleachers II, which is where this all really began for me. I've lived and danced in many states, which helped really round out my dance experience and knowledge, in both line and couples styles. When Bronco Billy's closed in 2002, line dancing in the Milwaukee area went dormant, and so a few of us regularly traveled 2 hrs each wknd to Illinois to dance at Sundance Saloon (the 1st one, then the 2nd one), and Cadillac Ranch, which later became the Lucky Starr. In 2012, there was a need for an instructor in the Milwaukee area and I stepped into that role for the 1st time, and then a year later into the DJ role. We made a brave go of it and hung on for a year or two, but it just didn't keep, it's like once the Bronco's group dispersed, we never came back together. I DJ'd weddings for another DJ company from 2012-2020, and then I started my own DJ company, focusing on weddings and managing a staff of 15, primarily female DJs. Line dancing showed it's face in the area once again, and I found myself with multiple engagements with weekly venues, pop up events, and corporate engagements. Things have taken off like wildfire, and there was so much demand for the RLU show, that I had to expand and create a team that could help deliver my product. RLU is now a production of Ring Tunes, and boasts a dance team of 15, and a DJ/Instructor crew of 5. Line dancing is like sign language...if we all do it the same, we can have a great time on the dance floor. Obviously, everyone has their own style and flare, but it is paramount to me that dances are taught correctly, so that nobody gets lost or confused. I see so many instructors teaching students incorrectly, then they try to dance with us and are confused why they are getting lost. I've had so many students tell me they spent hundreds of dollars taking line dance classes at a dance studio, only to discover it was all a waste because the studios arent't in touch with the country dance scene, and were teaching dances that nobody does out in the real world. At RLU, we prioritize our students having the best tools, and the most current knowledge, so THEY can dance in other states and dance halls, and not be left behind. I also know the impact of making lifetime friends through dance, and I know so many dancers rely on that endorphin boost that comes from dancing. I want them to have a fun environment and a safe place to dance and make friends. Another priority of mine is dance floor etiquette. Without rules and respect, there is only chaos (and sometimes injury!), which is literally the opposite of the whole point of line dancing....to be in unison. There are lots of groups out there, each offering something slightly different. My focus is that honkytonk club vibe....the dancing, the lights, the music, drinks, food, etc. If you like what you hear and see, get to one of our classes or open dance nights. We have a heart for the Beginner dancer, we welcome you with open arms, we remember when we were beginners, and we will make it easy for you. The RLU team is great about promoting community, and our dancers are also friendly and welcoming. Don't be shy, come dance with us!

What is Flashmob Monday? We are so glad you asked, Randy Gau !

Redd has so many fun ideas just waiting to escape her brain...this one has been stuck in the cobwebs for years. With an awesome team to support, she can finally bring these ideas to life. And now that dancers have seen how fun a flashmob can be, via the International Line Dance Flashmob, it seems like the perfect time to roll this idea out.

Once a month, ANYONE can join the RLU Dance Team to wreak surprise and fun all over the place. These moments will be short, probably only 3 dances long (unless we get an "encore!"), but the shortness will be sweet. We will be surprising businesses, restaurants, random crowds, and my favorite pet project....hospitals, nursing homes, and other places that could use a smile.

Details for June's Flashmob are awaiting confirmation, but we're excited to see who will get in on the fun. There's always opportunity for socializing and libations afterwards! Stay tuned for the event page.

Do YOU have a location in mind? Let us know, we'll add it to the list!

DJs Redd and Maya settin up at Country Rising : Milwaukee . When you're in the production and performance industry, you have to be FLEXible, adaptable, things change! So when the production manager came up and asked "can you pivot?"....lol....it's literally what we do all night long! (In my head "right half turn, left half turn") 🤣

It's a 90's Country Dance Party Friday tomorrow! We're bringing back the Switch Set in the Couples Class at 6:30, don't miss it!

Reminder: the first 2 hours of the night are for 90s dances ONLY!!! The last part of the night will be more current dances. As always, we adjust for the crowd....if there's not enough OG dancers to make the 90s stuff make sense....we pivot and play to dancers that are there. We only get 4 to 5 nights like this every year, so call up all your old Bronco Billy's pals (or send a fax if you have to) and tell them to GIT HERE!!!! Be sure to tell them about our Next Level Partners Dancing only night on 6/26, all the two stepping your heart could desire!

We see Janna representing The Tipsy Turtle Patio and Grill and Maddy Frischmon representing THE ARGO. We'll post the footage soon! And a HUGE thank you to DJGALAXY PRODUCTIONS for the custom made song, once again Sean Pruitt comes through for our dance team 😍 (this was a warm up session for filming so we couldn't crank it at full volume)
