321 Cruising Tip: No Typecasting!

You will come across many types here at Slammer and every single man is roaming around and looking for something different.

Remember that because you don't know what that hot guy across the bar is looking for. A lot of times, we'll immediately rule ourselves out because he's different than us.

Did you ever think that he may be looking for someone different than him, too? Never rule yourself out. You can't tell by looking at someone what or who they're into.

People...and gay men in particular...have a habit of classifying each other into ridiculous categories. Quit it!

Lose the labels and see what happens. H***y men will surprise you every single time. Give it a shot and see what he's thinking. You could be the one at the top of his list.

Given that, I'll put in a disclaimer here. In the end, no means no. If they're not interested, don't be a desperate do*****ag or a stalker. Move on. There are plenty more where he came from.

Did You Know: It Is Illegal to Use Ma*****na at 321 Slammer

Many of us are just as unhappy as you are that the recreational ma*****na law failed during the recent election. Here’s hoping for next time! But since it did, here’s a reminder: smoking or using ma*****na products in public is illegal in the state of Florida, regardless of prescription. Period. We love it just like many of you, but we must follow the laws just like everyone else. Until it’s legal recreationally in the state of Florida (and perhaps even afterward depending on how the law is written), that’s the way it goes. Sigh.

It’s amazing how many excuses I’ve heard: “I have a prescription;” “Oh, I didn’t know it was illegal;” and even “I’m required to use it regardless of where I am.” No. If you’re that oblivious, you don’t belong here. It’s very inconsiderate to your fellow club members and puts our club, staff, and other members at risk. We won’t tolerate it.

Now, to be fair, those coming from locales where its use is legal may not know the local laws. So, here are the basics:

Recreational ma*****na use is illegal in Florida. All of Florida. Furthermore, Florida law prohibits the use of high-THC medicinal ma*****na (aka all of it) in public, among many other places. This includes bars and clubs like ours.

Anyone who has a Medical Ma*****na Use ID Card is (or should be) aware of the rules. There is no valid excuse.

So, to reiterate, the use of cannabis or ma*****na at 321 Slammer, in the building or smoking area, and even on the property, is not allowed. If caught, you will be escorted out and likely be banned from the premises. Don’t risk it.

And, if you do have a prescription card, it may not be used as an ID for entry. That’s another state law.

AS a reminder!

We were saddened to hear about Spirit Airlines shutdown and the thousands of people who were employed by the airline, many of whom are part of the local gay community and some of whom are already part of the 321 Slammer family.

We've all been through difficult times and know that any gesture of support means a great deal. To that end, we're offering the following May Spirit Special:
