Football 101 for Moms Brings Football Basics, Community and Fun Together for a Great Cause
FERNDALE, Wash. — Football season is here, and it’s time for the moms to learn what all the yelling from the sidelines is about!
Football 101 for Moms will take place Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. This fun and welcoming clinic is designed for women who want to better understand the game of football — whether they’re a football mom, wife, girlfriend, fan, or someone who has always wondered what exactly a “first down” is.
The evening will break football down in an easy-to-understand, no-pressure environment. Participants will learn the basics of the game, including positions, terminology, penalties, offense and defense, play calling, and some of the strategy happening on the field.
And yes — questions are encouraged! The goal is to create a comfortable place to ask the football questions you may have been too afraid to ask from the stands.
Admission is $20 per person, with proceeds benefiting Ferndale Youth Sports and supporting opportunities for local kids to participate in athletics.

Football 101 for Moms is about more than learning the difference between a touchdown and a touchback. It’s an opportunity to bring our football community together, have some laughs, learn the game, and support the next generation of Ferndale athletes.
