This is a little longer than my usual postā€¦ but here goes.

A new customer, Sebastian, encouraged me last night to share a little more about myself. Soā€¦ whoā€™s the guy who decided to open a cigar lounge in Fallbrook?

Iā€™ve been in the cigar business for 20+ yearsā€”selling ci**rs, working humidors, opening and managing stores, photographing ci**rs, hosting cigar showsā€”and now, finally, owning a place of my own.

When The Humidor at Harlowā€™s abruptly closed in December, it crushed me. But my wife kept telling me it was time to bet on myself.

Then came four months of hearing NO. Seriously, it felt like 100 different locations.

One night, sitting in my backyard smoking a cigar, I told a close friend I was ready to give up.

He looked at me and said:

ā€œBroā€¦ BELIEVE. I believe in you.ā€

As a huge Ted Lasso fan, that word hit differently.

BELIEVE.

The very next day, I called a buddy in Fallbrook and said, ā€œLetā€™s drive around and find some FOR LEASE signs.ā€

Thatā€™s when we found the future home of JJā€™s Cigar Lounge.

And finally, someone said YES.

Thatā€™s why thereā€™s a BELIEVE sign above the door at JJā€™s. It reminds me of the night I almost quitā€”and the people who believed in me when I needed it most.

At the end of the day, Iā€™m just a guy who loves a great cigar and connecting with people.

Ci**rs are the conduit. People are the reason.

Thatā€™s what JJā€™s is about.

Weā€™re just getting started, but I think weā€™re building something pretty damn cool here in Fallbrook.

If you havenā€™t been in yet, come see me. Grab a cigar, pull up a chair and stay awhile.
