Hi everyone, we’re less than a week away from our official anniversary. We sure hope you can all make it. It will be so much better with you all there. This is a momentous time because some were not sure if this was a good idea. Yet we kept going and we made sure that it was a great idea. In this last year, we have noticed many of you returning each month and were thrilled to see you and watch you continue to come back which lets us know we’re doing this right. We have had an amazing host that being Isabella who owns Black Lab Gallery. We have had an amazing staff Marcus who runs the venue, and Sidney makes incredible drinks and is one of the best bartenders we know about. Both Marcus and Sidney have been super supportive of the night and we think you should know that. We’ve also had live art demonstrations that were managed as well as performed by Kathy Lynott. Kathy did a great job and now as we go on, we will be doing this ourselves. How could we forget the amazing DJ Activate, who literally stepped into the role as the resident DJ without any reservations and literally grew immensely in the process we also must mention his wife Blaire who is super supportive and let him DJ with no qualms. We must thank the people who helped start the night with me. That includes Tara Lee and Isabella who owns Blacklab. We must also thank the local DJs who happily stepped up to join DJ Activate and help us, maintain the local flavor and respect those who came before us like Dave Daschofsky, who was our first guest DJ. We must thank all the DJs we’ve had, including DJ, Oliver D’Place, who has become one of our favorite DJs, and the only person who can take Adam's place in his absence, DJ Jades, who is part of our haunting in Everett night, DJ Daemon Chadeu, who has been a very strong supporter, DJ wives helped us start the new year, DJ floral black, who helped us welcome the spring in March, the one and only DJ Drew who has been a founding force in the community and likely responsible for all the goodwill and kindness that we all learned from him and his group friends. It was truly an honor to have him and we hope to have them back in the future if we can. It was our pleasure to do two different benefits for him and he was able to DJ in June. DJ Dave also came back in May, and we loved having him once again considering he’s a kind person and very much part of what makes Everett's goth and industrial scene so friendly. In July we had DJ Trishy and that was again a wonderful AFK regular just like Dave who has a Dj’ed Darkside. In August We brought back DJ Oliver D Place which was fun. This month should be another great night. I am jumping into the DJ booth this time with DJ Activate some people know I used to DJ at the Mercury long before the pandemic. I won a DJ competition there years ago as well. I’m hoping you can make it. The music will be a little slower than usual, but we promise it will be some of the best we have played if you’d like to slow down a little bit and just spend time with someone you care about, or enjoy dancing to some truly beautiful music we think you’ll be very happy. We’ve hand-picked many of these beautiful selections and we will still have some of our regular dark side happenings for everyone knows there’s always a late-night science fiction picture show starting somewhere. So we hope to see you there coming in your finest or just coming, however, you’re most comfortable, We will be thrilled to see you, and we have a new vendor showing up as well. We plan to have vendors in the back of the room at every Darkside Evt night. That’s one way we can support the community and also the people within our group who have their own handmade wares to sell and share with us. Please let us know if you have any requests that fit in the slower sets. There will be live art by Arrhyythmia and vending by Siodheln in the back of the room. We will have our fourth Darkside cocktail hour from 7-9 pm just before Darkside. So feel free to join us for a drink and get a $5 ticket to get into Darkside all night long. It's always ok to bring or have food delivered to the Black Lab and we have plenty of great restaurants to choose from which are quite delicious and not overpriced. Come join us and beat the summer blues with some great music and excellent drinks.
