Explore Short Pose and Gesture Drawing
You’re invited to a figure drawing class on Sunday, May 31! This session will focus on short pose figure drawing, beginning with quick 2-minute poses and gradually working up to 20-minute poses. We’ll emphasize gesture drawing, making it a great chance to loosen up your sketching skills and capture dynamic movement.
The class is open to all levels, including beginners-everyone is welcome! Please note that participants must be 18 or older to attend. Charcoals, paper, and drawing boards will be provided, but feel free to bring your own favorite materials if you’d like.
More dates will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
We encourage you to register in advance to secure your spot.
You can bring your preferred drawing/painting materials if you like.

History of Women in Art (ART 13) with Dr Carolyn Martin and Figure Painting in Context (ART 119) with Erik Parra — two essential classes that aren’t offered every semester!
If you’ve already taken some beginning level art classes and you’re looking to develop your portfolio, consider taking one of the Special Projects classes (ART 24, 29, or 54) with Lisa Crallé. Special Projects is an independent study “critique club” - one section will meet in-person on Weds evenings, and the other will meet on zoom on Monday evenings.
We have tons of great classes to choose from, and starting this fall all Art and Art History classes will meet in our brand new building, BCC West, at the corner of Center and Milvia streets!
