To our amazing community,
In 2004 my wife Karen, our daughter Amy and I took over the restaurant in the Holiday Inn, Elmira. We changed the name of the restaurant to “Anthony’s Restaurant” in honor of my father, who loved the Elmira community from the day he built the Holiday Inn in 1974. He loved this community and the people in it. We have been here 20 years and have made so many friends in those years that we now consider them family!
During our time in Elmira, we had the pleasure of doing everything we could to give back to this great community. Over the years we have been honored to have the opportunity of donating a spaghetti and meatball dinner to the cancer survivors at the Horseheads Holding Point and again at Chapel Park in Southport during the “Relay for Life Walk.” We also donated spaghetti and meatball dinners at the “Spaghetti and Ice” fundraiser events held at the arena for MDA and organizing the Construction events held at the Arnot Mall, getting donations, and collecting cans from the structures for the Food Bank. We loved holding holiday parties every year until Covid, providing approximately 150 buffet dinners, activities and a visit with Santa to families that would not have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season, donating our banquet space for the Red Cross blood drives, having events to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network and the Cancer Society.
These were just some of the ways to thank and give back to this remarkable community for all the support they have given us over the years.
We would not have been able to serve the community and do these events over the years without our committed and loyal staff. Amy, my family, and I want to thank everyone who has allowed us to become part of their community family and has not only supported us but showed us kindness and compassion over the years. Our last day business will be this coming Sunday, September 29. We will truly miss everyone; you all are very special to us and will always have a place in our hearts.
