Our Story

Oak Barrel of Eagle is a locally owned Restaurant and Lounge located in beautiful downtown Eagle, Idaho. Armed with a dream, and a very small business loan, we opened the Restaurant March 2016. The story is not unlike the many small business owners that are passionate about what they do. Oak Barrel of Eagle is how we show our love for family, community, hospitality, and healthy eating. We believe that great food brings people together in a way that nothing else can. Family meals, date nights, business meetings, and so many more wonderful moments happen here. And we get to witness those moments! How lucky are we? We meet the most wonderful people and have made some lifetime friends. We are so Blessed!

We are often asked, “what made you decide to open a restaurant?”. It wasn’t a decision that happened overnight. In fact, we have been planning every detail for more than a decade. I (Kristina) worked in the service industry for many years before moving to the Corporate World. I loved learning about the food, the people, and how food affects people. In my research, I found that processed food is having a very negative affect on our bodies. Food in it’s most natural form was better for our bodies and tasted better. Since we are all different, we also have a passion for accommodating as many sensitivities as possible. We start with Gluten Free proteins and produce and go from there. Since everything is made from scratch in-house, many items are just naturally gluten free (just don’t include the croutons or ask for a gluten free bun or bread). Of course, there are no preservatives in our house made sauces, dressings, desserts, or breads. We also get our sandwich and burger buns from Gastons Local Bakery to ensure no preservatives or anything unnatural is in anything we serve.

We are also so fortunate to have found such an amazing venue for our Restaurant. We are able to provide a setting for everyone! Whether you choose to have dinner with the family in the restaurant or on the creek-side patio or hang out with friends or colleagues in the Lounge, you can enjoy the same menu throughout the facility. The lounge also offers bar snacks, and lots of fun events throughout the week. Check out the Blues and Jazz Jam every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 3-6pm. Or DJ Dance Karaoke on Wednesday and Friday nights. Happy Hour is DAILY from 3-6pm and ALL DAY SUNDAY with half price beer and $2 off every glass of wine. Well Drinks are $3! Our 6 large screen TVs make sports viewing the best in town!
