Diamond Shaft NJS Hours: Saturday - 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. Days and Hours Vary for scheduled events. Must be over 21 -- proper attire required --NO GYM SHOES. Donation $.

Firearms and drugs are prohibited. NJS is a private family owned/operated establishment located in the city of Detroit for 30+ years, & known for ballroom dancing to smooth jazz. Billed as the World's Largest Juke Joint, NJS is frequented by a mature crowd. A nonalcoholic establishment, but you may bring your own drinks before 2:00 a.m. Tables are cleared of all alcoholic bottles/cans at 2:00 a.m

. The building is smoke free, but there is an outdoor patio where patrons can smoke cigarettes. Besides the patio, NJS is sectioned off into three rooms -- the Lobby which includes the coat check; the Castle Hall featuring a fireplace, TV, and board games including chess, checkers, and backgammon, and the kitchen where fresh chicken is cooked to order; and the Diamond Mine where the DJ and dance floor is located. Events at NJS have included baby/bridal showers, birthdays/anniversaries, wedding receptions, and repass gatherings. Hours may vary for a planned event. Music by the Maestro and EQ. Memberships available.
