JMT — FULL FORCE AT TV LOUNGE
You’ve seen him at Movement. You’ve caught him around Detroit and beyond playing with names like Zack Fox, AceMo, DJ Minx, Eddie Fowlkes, Kevin Saunderson sillygirlcarmen and Disc Jockey George. The man is sought after and has become a familiar face in the rooms where Detroit's next generation is making its noise. You’ve probably heard one of his tracks, flips or edits without even realizing where it came from.
Saturday, October 10th, you will get the full picture.
TV Lounge is proud to present JMT, the Detroit-forged, Pontiac-born DJ, producer and recording artist Joshua Turner, for a night built around the full range of his talent.
At just 24, JMT is already carving out a sound that feels unmistakably his own—pulling from Ghettotech, House, Tech House, Chicago Juke, Detroit Jit and the raw, bass-heavy energy of Detroit’s underground. But what makes JMT exciting isn't simply the genres he touches. It's the way he connects them.
His musical DNA runs from pop and rap into Detroit's club culture, where he has developed into a producer with a growing catalog of original music, flips and projects including GHETTOTECHTROPOLIS, GhettoTech Reject, The A.I. Tape and more. His tracks move fast, hit hard and carry that distinctly Detroit ability to make something familiar feel completely new.
And this isn't just a young DJ getting his feet wet. This night is different.
This is JMT's night—a chance to hear the producer, the DJ, the selector and the artist all in one place. And TV Lounge is the perfect laboratory for it.
The revamped Red Room. A real dancefloor. A sound system built for movement. An audience that actually listens. TV has always been a place where emerging Detroit artists can stretch out, take chances and show people what they're really about. There’s room here for an artist to go deeper than a quick festival set or opening slot.
So come hear what JMT sounds like when he gets to tell the whole story.
And he’s bringing three friends who know exactly how to keep the energy moving.
SHEEFY McFLY
Detroit multidisciplinary creative force. Painter. Muralist. Rapper. Producer. DJ. Whether he's working on a six-story mural or stepping behind the decks as Edward Elecktro, Sheefy brings the same fearless Detroit perspective to everything he touches. His ghettotech work and visual art both pull directly from the city's history, movement and street-level creativity.
PLANET KAIA
A Detroit DJ whose connection to ghettotech runs deep. Inspired by hearing DJ Assault and DJ Godfather growing up, KaiA started DJing in 2020 and has built a sound centered around freedom, energy, humor, community and some serious back-breaking beats.
JUST SHACOI
A genre-bending selector who calls their approach “polyjamorous.” Think Black musical traditions, regional club sounds, techno, hip-hop and whatever else belongs in the moment. No boxes. No rules. Just a willingness to go wherever the music takes them.
Three friends. Three different perspectives. One room.
Come see why JMT is one of the young artists Detroit is talking about.
Saturday, October 10th at TV Lounge.
This is TV.
