Our love letter to Denver

We tried to bring a collective passion that combined a love of music, food and elevated drinks to the night life of Denver. Unfortunately our dream faded, like a child’s dream of growing up to fly to the moon.

This Saturday is our last day party with one of our favorites It’s our last opportunity to cut some moves on the green floor, to dance under the magic disco ball, to close your eyes and feel the energy of the music in your spine as the enhancements flow through your mind.

Thank you to everyone who supported our artists and residents, they are incredibly talented humans and amazing people as are you and we love you.

Art is the life blood of any city, artists bring the weird, they bring the odd, and we want Denver to be the best fu***ng city in America, and this is coming from a couple of Aussies. We may not have made it but be sure to support your other favourite local spots so we can continue to have fun, new, unique, out of the ordinary events in this city.

We had a great time with some amazing acts, , , , , , , , , .spheres , , and , to name a few.

This Saturday 🪩 Backdoor Sessions is a vibrant music collective based in Denver, founded by the dynamic DJ duo IIVX, alongside Sean Lannan, DJ Devlyn, and Anthony Jiminez. Renowned for their unique fusion of minimal house, melodic techno, afro house, and UK garage, they create a compelling and distinctive musical experience. Wata Igarashi has developed a clear sound of his own. He brings together the euphoric and psychedelic, with his music standing out for its crystalline structures and shimmering intensity.

Igarashi’s distinctive take on techno is on display across a series of EPs on Midgar and The Bunker NY, as well as on Semantica, Time to Express, and Bitta. Recent standout remixes of Aurora Halal, Volte-Face and Prins Thomas have further demonstrated his considerable talents as a producer. The same mentality is present in his performances, whether DJing or playing live, with his measured control of frequencies and intensities shaping the dancefloor as he explores the more psychedelic dimensions of techno. In this way, Igarashi’s considered approach is one that stimulates the body and mind, generating energy and emotion.

Jeremy Howard (aka Sinistarr) is among the most interesting and exciting names to hit the underground dance music world. He is known as an innovative and consistent producer, and a skilled and adventurous DJ. Jeremy’s sound is an authentic extension of his Detroit roots and the pure talent he possesses, deftly exploring the soul of yesteryear in a modern context. Jeremy’s sound began in the world of Drum & Bass, with releases across the board on the genre’s top labels. As his production prowess grew, his music branched out into many different tempos. Through it all, he maintains a unique sound exploring the realms of Footwork, Jungle, and Techno. Sinistarr has recently put out music on the labels Hooversound, Defrostatica, Unchained Recordings, and the 70th release on Bridge’s iconic Exit Records.

Liza Spinnelli came up in the Chicago party scene of the late 90’s and that influence is solidly reflected in her music. She describes her sound as microhouse with a dash of diva, b***y-shakin’ basslines and a hefty dose of weird. Anthems will get unabashedly thrown in because they shouldn’t live only in the collective memory of Gen X party kids. She started buying records in the late 90’s and she started with drum and bass. Quite likely the musical rebellion of a Midwesterner who grew up with Bad Boy Bill on the radio. In the early 2000’s she moved into electro and techno and, by 2010, had slipped into what we now know as microhouse and minimal techno. The Chicago flavor is unmistakable but she chases some of those peculiar noises that are very reminiscent of DnB and electro.

This Friday 🪩 join us for a night of gorgeous bass heavy techno - the time has come to bring the Sorted sound to that lovely Void system. We’re stoked to be working with Stay Tuned for this one!

Those of you who have been coming to Sorted events know that we are HUGE fans of the label Livity Sound, and have brought out many of the artists that have appeared on Livity… Simon Aussel aka Simo Cell is one of those artists, first appearing on Livity way back in 2015. His commitment to the deeper side of techno and UK bass permutations has manifested itself in 12”s and mixtapes on other legendary labels such as Wisdom Teeth & Trilogy Tapes, and in 2021 Simon & launched his own label, TemeT.

Amidst appearances at festivals like Freerotation, Atonal Berlin & Dekmantel; legendary long-running parties such as REEF & Texture, and clubs like Fabric & Tresor, Simon also played a very well-received set for Sorted at our 4-year anniversary party in 2019! We are proud to welcome him back for an extended 3-hour set of the genre-spanning, bass heavy sounds our parties are known for.

Sorted resident newnumbertwo will be starting things off with an extended 2-hour set of his own.

We are grateful for the opportunity to bring everyone together - during sensible raver hours even, so no excuses! ;)
