# # # **⚠️ COMMUNITY SAFETY ALERT: Denton Square & Surrounding Businesses ⚠️**
To our neighbors, fellow business owners, and patrons on the Denton Square, we want to share a safety PSA regarding an incident that occurred a couple of days ago at **Ruby Rodeo** around **2:30 AM** (at the end of the closing shift).
One of our team members was approached by a suspicious individual while leaving the building. Thanks to quick thinking, a fast police response, and our strict security protocols, everyone is safe—but we want the community to be on high alert.
# # # # **Incident Details & Suspect Description:**
* **The Suspect:** Black male, approximately 6’0” tall, thin build.
* **The Vehicle:** Gray Honda Civic.
* **The Setup:** The individual approached our team member at the end of the shift, making comments about the business being busy and asking about cash/success ("Y'all must do good business... y'all are really busy").
* **The Action:** After our team member drove away and safely parked around the corner, the individual returned to the property and **attempted to gain entry** through Ruby Rodeo’s front door, side exit, and the balcony on Oak St.
Denton PD was notified immediately and arrived on the scene within an impressive two minutes. Unfortunately, the perpetrator had already fled and was not located.
# # # # **A Note to Future "Visitors":**
Like many modern venues on the Square, **Ruby Rodeo operates almost entirely on credit transactions and we do not keep cash on hand.** There is nothing of cash value left in the building overnight.

Above all else, the safety of our employees, our guests, and our neighboring community is our absolute main priority. Please share this with your staff and management teams.
* **Be aware of your surroundings** at all times, especially during late-night cash drops or closing shifts.
* **Always walk to your cars in pairs** or groups after hours.
* **If you see something, say something.** Don't hesitate to contact Denton PD immediately if you spot this vehicle or person loitering around the Square.
