As summer heats up, cool down with this week’s featured sip: Botanical Sodas.

Extra dry and refreshingly complex, these non-alcoholic botanical sodas are inspired by classic cocktail flavors:

• ALTA – Italian-style with pink citrus and fruity spice, reminiscent of a Negroni
• COMO – Alpine-style with bright citrus and wildflower notes, inspired by Alpine amaro
• ONDA – Sicilian-style with coastal citrus and fresh sage, reminiscent of Sicilian amaro

Each is served over ice in one of our handmade recycled blue twist cups and finished with a handmade lemon sugar garnish and fresh lemon. Prefer a sweeter sip? Just ask for a touch of simple syrup.

Celebrate tequila with an evening of handcrafted cocktails, fascinating history from local cocktail historian Beth Vandergrift, and a live glassblowing demonstration. You’ll learn to make tequila classics while exploring the story behind Mexico’s iconic spirit.

August 7 • Scofflaws & Speakeasies
Step back into the Prohibition era as we uncover Detroit’s role in the bootlegging trade. Enjoy hands-on cocktail making, tales of gangsters and speakeasies, and a live Hot Shop demonstration.

August 21 • Farm to Glass
Celebrate Michigan’s harvest season with fresh local ingredients, custom-crafted cocktails, a live glassblowing experience, and stories connecting agriculture, history, and great drinks.

Each class includes two cocktails, a live glassblowing demonstration, engaging historical storytelling, and recipes to take home.

What a night.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate one year of The Michigan Room with us. From the live glass blowing and giveaways to the cocktails, conversation, and energy in the room…it was an evening we won’t soon forget.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support, familiar faces, and new ones we’ve met along the way. Watching this space grow over the past year has meant everything to us, and celebrations like this remind us why we do it.
