Miracle, New York City’s beloved holiday pop-up bar expands its brand of cocktail cheer across the globe and is in dallas hosted by the same folks for year number eight. Miracle, New York City’s beloved holiday pop-up bar (launched in 2014 at Mace as Miracle on 9th Street), expands its brand of cocktail cheer across the globe for the 2016 holiday season. The popular New York City location will sti
ll return for its third year at 649 East 9th Street but that’s not the only gift that this holiday-themed sensation has to offer for this go-round. Miracle Owner Greg Boehm and Manager Joann Spiegel have partnered with over 30 renowned bars (and counting!) across the world to launch sister pop-ups in cities as far-flung as London, Athens, Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver and Oklahoma City. Bartender Nico de Soto (Mace, Danico), the mind behind the Christmas concoctions for the past two years, will again create this year’s drink list, which will be served at all Miracle locations from December 7th to December 31st. Cocktails like the Muletide (Aquavit, Oloroso sherry, ginger, lime, pumpkin) and the Christmopolitan (vodka, elderflower, fig, spiced cranberry sauce, lime) will be served in Cocktail Kingdom’s festive, custom Miracle glassware that will be uniform throughout the world. Each of the locations will deck their halls with lights, garlands and ribbons inspired by the original pop-up’s bonanza of cheerful Christmas decorations, and a soundtrack of holiday songs will help set the spirit. What’s now going global started as a suggestion from Boehm’s mother, who called him during Mace’s construction three years ago. Mrs. Boehm said, “Hold off on construction in December. Do a fun, over the top Christmas bar for a month and continue construction in January.” As crowds swarmed the NYC location over the past two years, Boehm started receiving other calls - this time from friends throughout the bar industry, who wanted to know how they could recreate the holiday magic on their turf. An expansion became inevitable.Global partners include locations in Greece, Montreal, London, Paris, Oklahoma City, Charleston, Minneapolis, St. Louis and more (a full list of locations available upon request). There are 30 Miracle outposts currently planned, with more in the works. Looks like this year it is going to be dangerously easy to get and stay in the holiday spirit.
