Today, 2pm, Hopkins Hall, Ohio State.

Panelists: Ata Mojlish, Efadul Huq, Rasel Ahmed

In this artist/activist talk, the co-makers of Moving Memories: In the Absence/Presence of Q***r Bangladeshi Voices exhibit will talk about archive as a contested site of colonial trauma, nationalist myth making, and its q***r reimagination by decentering catalogization of the archive and replacing it with intimacy, care, and collaborative artmaking. The exhibition reactivates a 2021 oral history project that tells narratives of q***r displacement and homemaking of Bangladeshi q***r migrants residing in the U.S.

The oral histories animated by this exhibit were created in collaboration with South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) and Q***r Archives of the Bengal Delta (QABD).

This event is co-sponsored by Asian American Studies (AAS), South-Asian Studies Initiative (SASI), Dept. of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts (TFMA), and Dept. of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS).
