Oscars have been a joke for awhile now and that means a lot coming from an optimist. 'Thirteen Lives' by Ron Howard is easily the best picture this year. Not a single nomination though... Other honorable mentions would be 'Amsterdam' & 'Glass Onion'. Out of the actual nominees though, I'd like to see 'The Banshees of Inisherin' take it.

The movies nominated last year for 2021 were way better than this years. Unfortunately Nomadland took home the win. I would have liked to see "The Trial of the Chicago 7" get more recognition. I'd put that as the best picture. Mank and Sound of Metal are definitely honorable mentions. This year I was disappointed as usual. Tick, tick... Boom! Was probably the best picture but wasn't nominated. Perhaps Andrew Garfield can take best actor as he deserved it in the past. Other movies that stood out to me this year is Being the Ricardos and Licorice Pizza. **Thumbs-crossed*"
