About Room 13
Located in the garden level of the Old Chicago Inn, Room 13 is the Inn's very own private Prohibition-era inspired speakeasy & members club. Our resident bartender serves up classic cocktails, using recipes and ingredients that hearken from the Jazz Age and earlier. ktail, often with cultural anecdotes that bring the Prohibition-era to life. Our Membership
Membership? Yes, we are a members cocktail bar. Prospective members and their guests are welcome to two previews during our regular business hours. A third preview is not offered. During the second preview, prospective members may apply for membership via our in-house paper application. If selected to be a member, registration lasts for 13 months upon approval. To be considered for membership - simply be yourself, respect the relaxed environment, and be willing to have friendly conversation with other guests. We are not looking for pretentious or riotous individuals that aren’t willing to engage with others. There is an up-front cost of $100.00 via credit card only on the application once approved. This cost may be redeemed for an equal credit stay towards lodging at the Old Chicago Inn or towards the cost of renting out the space at Room 13 for a private event. To redeem the credit once approved, please reach out to us and we’ll direct you accordingly. This credit does not roll over once the membership has lapsed. We also offer a special membership designed for those actively working within the bar & restaurant industry. Please reach out for more info regarding our Industry Membership if interested in learning more. Towards the end of the 13 month membership, members will be notified and are welcome to reapply. Regarding The Password For Entrance
Yes, everyone needs the password for entrance. It’s a speakeasy after all! The password changes on a regular basis and may be obtained by making a reservation for a preview with the Bar Manager. It is also sent out to our members via email every week along with any other relevant info. We ask that our guests guard the password’s secrecy. How To Find Us
The entrance to Room 13 is located on the left side of the Old Chicago Inn. Follow the set of stairs down and arrive at the wooden door on the right. It will be marked by a red light. Knock with intent, and when answered speak the evening’s password. Days & Hours Of Operation
The bar is open for cocktails every Wednesday - Saturday and our business hours are 5pm-1am. This is subject to change and guests will be informed if hours differ for the week. Dress Code
At Room 13 we do suggest proper dress. We ask our guests to follow a cocktail & business casual model. Identified gentlemen are asked to wear some sort of collar (jacket, button-up, etc) or sweater; nice denim is acceptable (no wear and tear); no athletic wear. We reserve the right to refuse entry if we deem someone underdressed for the occasion. Restrictions
We are a 21+ venue. Everyone is required to have a valid ID on hand while in the space. Members may bring a total party of four (including themselves) without making a reservation. Should one wish to bring more, a reservation is required. If a party exceeds eight guests, there will be a two-drink minimum per guest (not limited to spirited beverages) and everyone will be on the same bill. If a party exceeds 12 guests, a room rental rate may be required. Reservations
Reservations may be made with our Bar Manager at [email protected]. Reservations are highly encouraged for members as seating may not be available without - even for a small group. Contact for cancellations, late reservations, and changes of party size are greatly appreciated. Seating for late reservations are not guaranteed. Events & Private Parties
Here and there we host various types of events. Members will be notified when they are scheduled. Attendance to an event may require a reservation, cover, or ticket purchased ahead of time.
