Ecstatic Dance Chicago

Ecstatic Dance Chicago Established for the purpose of loving & supporting & nurturing ourselves through the outlet of fun, There is also a separate place to have long conversations.

Born from the Sunday Morning Ecstatic Dance in Oakland, California, we focus on nurturing a space where you can play and interact authentically. Picture the vibe of the Daybreaker and Morning Gloryville sunrise dance parties, but more intimate and on Sunday in the late morning. All in a healthy and loving community space where you can stretch, play, dance, and explore. Our dance floor is a convers

ation-free space which allows for more movement and non-verbal communication. Wear comfortable clothes that allow your body to move without restraint. Please do not use any strong perfumes, oils, or other scents. The temperature in the space will heat up as we get moving. Please bring a bottle or a cup for water which we have on site. There are also free snaks made by some participants in exchange for entry to the event. If you find yourself in a dance with someone that you would like to complete, simply say, or bring your hands into a prayer position and bow to your partner(s) to signal “Thank you. I’m done.”

Please be excellent to one another. (Act Respectfully and Ask First). We realize that not everyone is ready just yet to let go/be free/dance openly. With this in mind, we invite those who are curious to simply come by and get a feel for the atmosphere. Soak up some of the amazing energy — the smiles are contagious! And who knows, maybe you’ll be ready when the next Ecstatic Dance rolls around!

A New Year’s Winter chill blows across the city. With Autumn gone, and Summer past, where can the warmth be found? It is here! In the dancing, singing, sharing food, and sauna. This is the winter fruit that brings us together, warms our hearts, nurtures our spirits, and fills us with joy.
