Eastern Washington University has been named a 2026-27 College of Distinction for the second year in a row!

This national honor recognizes our vibrant community and our commitment to hands-on learning across eight specific categories, including Business, Education, and Engineering. We are also incredibly proud to be the only public university in Washington state to offer an applied learning guarantee for every undergraduate student.

We turned 20 this weekend! 🎉

The Basement opened Memorial Day weekend in 2006 and was founded by three former ASEWU student-body
representatives. For the majority of our 20 year existence we’ve been owned, managed, and staffed by EWU alumni and/or current students 🦅

We are grateful to our EWU and Cheney community for supporting us through the years and are excited to continue serving y’all! Just think, one more year and we’ll finally be old enough to buy a drink! 🍻😂
