DANCE TIP NUMBER TWO:
Although you will want your “First Dance” to be perfect, please know this:

It’s okay to be nervous.

No couple has EVER done “mistake-free-perfect" First Dance. Instead, do the dance that’s perfectly yours--- what you may view as “quirks”, your guests will view as “special” and characteristic of you and your partner.

If you make a mistake during your dance, your guests won’t know the difference. So, smile--- and keep on dancing!

DANCE TIP NUMBER ONE:

When choosing a song for your “First Dance”, pick from among these guidelines:

1. Choose a song whose words mean something to you; or

2. Choose a song whose words AND music makes you feel the love for one another; or

3. You can choose a song that makes you both laugh together, if you can’t find a serious song; I’ve seen “quirky” songs work great.

4. If you find you cannot choose a song, I have I number of winning wedding songs for you to choose from!

DANCE TIP NUMBER SEVEN:

What if we make a mistake during the dance? Simply put, just smile and continue dancing. Your lessons will teach you more than dance steps. They will teach you that a smile should be your first reaction to concern over making a mistake. Smiles are contagious to you and your guests. Speaking of your guests--- they will not know the difference between a correct dance step and an incorrect one. Now, isn’t that something to smile about?!

DANCE TIP NUMBER SIX:

HOW WILL YOUR FIRST DANCE BE RECEIVED IF YOU’RE UNCOMFORTABLY SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT IT? WHAT DO YOUR GUESTS (really) LOOK FOR IN YOUR FIRST DANCE?

You may care about your dance steps but, believe it or not, your guests will not care that much. What your guests mostly care about is the sincerity you show towards one another during the dance. If you believe you missed a step, you are permitted to literally laugh it off. Yes! Laughing is allowed during your First Dance. The act of Laughter gets everyone in the room more relaxed...including You!

WEDDING “FIRST DANCE” TIP NUMBER FIVE:

Decide how much “personality” you want to show your guests when you are introduced for your First Dance. Spontaneity is key here.

If you’re doing your dance before you sit down in the room, that usually means you’ll be walking into your room full of guests--- by way of an introduction by the DJ/Master of Ceremonies.
This can depend on the size of your reception. When you are introduced for your dance, and are walking onto the dancefloor, you can decide whether or not you want to wave to your guests. You can even walk into the room and do a “victory lap” around the dance floor…or not. Some newlyweds do, and some do not. There is no wrong or right here. It depends on how you feel at the moment. Whatever you do is perfectly fine.

Warmly,
Lenny

THANKS, DAVID!

There is a quote from Robert Burns that says:
“A woman can make an average man great, and a great man average.”

There is so much power and truth in that statement.
Each day is a choice. Do you choose to frog farm or do you speak queens language? (Alison Armstrong - "The Queens Code").
Do you emasculate or do you inspire devotion? Do you support him when he is struggling or kick him when he is down?
Ladies, you have so much control in a relationship. Being in your feminine is not a weakness. It is your strength. Use it the right way in your relationship and the man will break through walls for you. He will devote himself to you. In the end you will be all he needs.

WEDDING DANCE TIP NUMBER THREE:

How do you want to walk onto the dance floor?

Either you will be introduced onto the dancefloor from another room, or you will be seated in the room with your guests, and the DJ will introduce you from your seats. Either way is good. Many wedding couples prefer to be introduced from another room.

Either way, prepare to be have your guests applaud your entrance. It really is a lovely moment. Remember, they want to express how they feel about you two. Let them. And accept their support.

Ask your DJ’s opinion and suggestion, and then YOU decide.

Warmly,
Lenny

WEDDING DANCE TIP NUMBER THREE:

Most wedding couples want to feel that their guests are enjoying their “First Dance”, and have their guests’ support. To ensure that you feel your guests’ support during your dance, do this one simple thing:

· Pick 2 or 3 from among your “un-shy” guests to applaud your dance, which gives your other guests permission to show you their love and support. I promise you they'll stop sitting on their hands and express themselves!

Most couples would prefer not to dance in silence. Silence feeds nervousness. Applause is smile-inducing and contagious--- so, take their love in! You are the star of the event. It’s your wedding, you know! 😊 Enjoy it!!
