What’s her connection to music?
“My connection to music has always been about what speaks to me—what sends frissons through me and evokes memory the way scent can. I am a singer/songwriter, and living through sound amazes me. Creating music and witnessing others’ reactions—seeing where it takes them—is fascinating, especially when they are fully listening and feeling it. Music makes the hair on my arms stand up, and I seek those experiences almost daily. I’ll replay 15 seconds of a song over and over, as if I’ll never let it end, just to be enraptured by a chord, a sudden shift in frequencies, a riff, vamp, or bridge. I am truly seduced by music.”

What’s inspiring her right now?
“Lately, I’ve been immersed in cosmo disco—anything with cinematic arrangements. However, one artist I keep returning to is Linda Lewis and her Fathoms Deep album. The opening track, Fathoms Deep, always accompanies my peaceful walks along the greenway on a sunny day. It’s one of those songs that can bring a single tear of joy, whether in the light of day or the quiet of night, after moments of deep contemplation or grief.”

What’s she bringing to the lounge?
“When the concept of women in Soul was mentioned, my soul lit up. Soul music isn’t just a style—it’s the sound that evokes emotion, the feeling that touches another person. I’m excited to share the voices that have molded me as an artist and vocalist and to play songs that give listeners chills the same way they do for me.“
