With only 36 days left until Fall, it’s FINALLY starting to feel like Summer here on the Central Coast! It’s about damn time!
Nonetheless we’ve been absolutely diggin’ the Summer menu here at the ‘Stro since it dropped back in July. But seriously, we cannot stop thinking about that pulled pork sandwich.😍🤤

Friends! We have a lot of Czech-style lagers on tap right now at ! Several are poured from traditional .cz horizontal faucets too…which work with a small screen in the faucet that causes micro-aeration and results in tiny bubbles for a creamy, wet foam cap. A huge impact on the texture of the beer! Here’s a few of our Czech offerings:

💎ℙ𝕣𝕒𝕧𝕕𝕒 - 𝟙𝟘 𝕕𝕖𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕖 ℂ𝕫𝕖𝕔𝕙-𝕤𝕥𝕪𝕝𝕖 𝕃𝕒𝕘𝕖𝕣, 𝟜%

Meaning ‘truth’ in Czech, Pravda is a true “Výcepní” (pronounced ‘vee-chep-nee’ - meaning draught beer) lower strength lager made with Bohemian floor malted barley. It’s also fermented with an authentic Czech lager strain, and is served unfiltered for a lovely texture with tons of character for just 4% alcohol. For the lager nerds, the strength of 10 degrees refers to the wort concentration of sugars at the start of fermentation, measured in Plato.

Pronounced ‘lay-jack’ - this lager is made with 100% floor malted Czech grown barley and fermented by the same yeast strain as our Výcepní. Deep gold with brilliant clarity, it has been filtered to perfection and hopped gratuitously with Czech Saaz hops. This results in wonderful balance of malt character and pronounced floral, Noble hop flavor. 12 degree is an indicator of sugar density in the wort. This is a full-bodied lager with ample bitterness and a gorgeous head of foam.

🌗ℍ𝕒𝕝𝕗 𝔻𝕒𝕣𝕜 - 𝟙𝟛 𝕕𝕖𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕖 ℂ𝕫𝕖𝕔𝕙-𝕤𝕥𝕪𝕝𝕖 𝔸𝕞𝕓𝕖𝕣 𝕃𝕒𝕘𝕖𝕣, 𝟝.𝟛%

Known as ‘Polotmavý’ which translates as ‘half dark’ in English, this is an amber lager brewed with floor malted, Bohemian dark malt (kind of the Czech equivalent to Munich malt) for a full body and aromatic malt sweetness. Some honey, biscuit and light caramel take the stage and are balanced with spicy Czech Saaz hops. Despite it’s fullness compared to the other Czech lagers above, it’s still a highly drinkable beer...
Finally, a lesson in ‘cheers-ing’ properly - simply say, ‘Na Zdravi!’ (naz-drah-vee) Which means, ‘for your health’ – be sure to make eye contact and clink your dimple mugs before you enjoy your delicious České Pivo! 🍻🫵

🚨SEAFOOD POP-UP ALERT🚨 has graced us with some uber fresh specialty seafood items at both and here at the Stro in Carmel-by-the-sea! Each location will have their own specials, and pictured here, in Carmel, is the Grilled Abalone Salad. This beautiful dish features shiitake mushrooms, bok choy, pickled daikon, pickled carrot, crispy ogo seaweed, and a ginger and miso vinaigrette.
