We’re kicking off Homestead’s Dine to Donate series on September 17th with an organization whose story and impact began right here in our community — the Evelyn Hazel Miller Foundation.
The foundation was created in memory of Evelyn, a sweet little girl whose life was cut tragically short by bacterial meningitis in 2018. At just two years old, Evelyn became a hero when her organs were donated, giving the gift of life to two people. Today, her legacy continues to touch countless children and families. ❤️
🐻 Through the Evie Bear programs, the foundation supports the education, literacy, mental health and well-being of children in ways Evelyn’s family believes would make her proud.
Their impact includes Evie Bear’s Little Libraries, which have distributed more than 6,000 FREE books, thousands of Christmas and Easter “HUGS” for hospitalized children, educational programs in Canal Wi******er schools, support for children’s hospitals, and so much more.
On September 17th, we’re proud to help them continue that work.
